Pirates of the Caribbean to be Added to Disneyland’s Genie+ Service
With the Haunted Mansion going down for refurbishment and Splash Mountain in the midst of its transformation into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean will be temporarily added to Disney Genie+ at Disneyland.
As the New Orleans Square and Critter Country section of the park is hurting for attractions, the wait time for Pirates of the Caribbean is expected to spike.
A Slew of Disneyland Refurbishments
The addition of Pirates of the Caribbean to Genie+ will coincide with the beginning of the Haunted Mansion refurbishment on January 22.
In addition to the Haunted Mansion closure, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is not expected to open until late in 2024. The Mark Twain Riverboat is also expected to be closed through early February.
With the addition of Pirates to Genie+, visitors who purchase Disneyland’s Genie+ service will now be able to skip the line. On the flip side, shoehorning the attraction into Genie+ will also likely increase the wait time for guests in the normal queue.
The Change is Not Permanent
At this time, according to Disneyland officials, Disney does not have plans to permanently add Pirates of the Caribbean to the Disney Genie+. It is also unclear when the attraction will be removed.
