This EPCOT Festival of the Arts Booth Would Be Perfect for Your Cat
Welcome to the first day of the 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts! The festival runs from today through February 19th.
It’s a short one, but there is a bunch of fun stuff to do, like watching artists create work in real-time and eat some very creative food. So, let’s go try out the food offerings over at L’Art de la Cuisine Française!
L’Art de la Cuisine Française
L’Art de la Cuisine Française is located in the France Pavilion.
Here’s a look at the menu, which has several new foods and drinks on it!
We started with the Crème de Brie en Petit Pain for $9.95. This is warm creamy brie in a house-made bread bowl.
This would probably be really great if the cheese in ours wasn’t ice cold and grainy. It’s supposed to be served warm, so maybe we just had some bad luck.
The temperature didn’t make the cheese melty like it should be, but it did at least have a nice saltiness to it. Maybe you’ll have better luck than us an get the cheese warm like it should be!
Next, we got the new Duo de Saumon Hot and Cold, which is both of the new salmon offerings for $14.75. The salmon offerings are:
- Saumon Fumé Mousse et Aspic, Blini et Fromage de Chevre: Salmon mousse, smoked salmon, dill, and flaxseed biscuit, served cold ($7.95 on its own)
- Vol-au-Vent de Saumon et Epinards, Sauce Chardonnay: Puff pastry with salmon and spinach and a chardonnay-shallot sauce, served warm ($7.95 on its own)
Oof. The cold salmon dish was awful and it reminded us of cat food. It was almost inedible.
The texture and taste was just off. It just tasted like cold salmon with cream cheese.
The warm salmon dish was better, but it still wasn’t something to write home about. We wouldn’t recommend getting the duo, maybe just get the warm dish if you really want something with salmon in it.
For dessert, we got the new Moelleux aux Noisettes, Croustillant Noisettes, Coulis Framboise et Mangue for $9.25. This is molten Valrhona chocolate cake, hazelnut crunch, and mango-raspberry coulis.
This cake is definitely delicious, but it’s basically just a fancy chocolate lava cake. It’s dense and rich and the hazelnut crunch on top adds some nice texture and nutty flavor.
There is even more richness from the molten chocolate inside the cake. It’s all delicious when you get all the chocolate and raspberry coulis in one bite!
As for drinks, we grabbed the returning Frozen French Martini for $15.25. This is Grey Goose Vodka, Chambord liqueur, pineapple, orange, and grape juices with lemon-lime foam.
There’s a reason they keep bringing this drink back — it’s fantastic! It has just the right amount of sweetness and is nice and refreshing.
It also doesn’t have a strong taste of alcohol. This drink will be great if and when it warms up a bit outside.
There are two new drinks at this booth — the Elderflower Liqueur Cocktail (St. Germain Liqueur, sparkling wine, and mint) for $13.25 and the Pinot Noir J. de Villebois for $12.75.
Also available at this booth is the Charles Lafitte, Brut Rosé Prestige, Méthode Traditionnel Champenoise French Rosé Sparkling Wine for $9.75.
Overall, this might be a skip of a booth except for the cocktail we tried!
