Portman Was Thrilled to Finally Meet Her “Son”
Portman portrayed Padame Amidala in George Lucas’s prequel trilogy, which culminated with the Republic Senator giving birth to Luke and Leia just before passing away.
Reflecting on the moment, Portman gushed about finally meeting Hamill.
“He called me mother,” she revealed on Jimmy Kimmmel Live. “It was the coolest thing.”

Could Portman and Hammil Return to ‘Star Wars’?
Although both Portman and Hamill’s Star Wars characters died, both stars may not be done with the franchise yet.

With The Mandalorian getting a feature film spin-off and Dave Filoni’s Star Wars film in production, Hamill could reprise his role as a digitally de-aged Luke Skywalker.
Additionally, there is a chance that Hammil could appear as a Force ghost in the upcoming Rey Skywalker movie.
Portman, meanwhile, has signaled a willingness to return, although how such a return would fit into the Star Wars narrative remains unclear.
