The first EPCOT festival of 2024 kicks off today, and MickeyBlog is there! Check out this fun experience at the Animation Academy!
Animation Academy
This experience walks you through how to draw a Disney character, and each session is led by an animator.
There are two sessions each day of the festival, at 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM. You’ll find this experience in the America Gardens Theatre.
Each guest gets a clipboard, a piece of sketch paper, and a small pencil. An animator gives step-by-step instructions to draw the character for that session.
What We Thought
There was a long line to get into Animation Academy today, but there’s plenty of seating in the theatre.
It’s not the same character every time, and we got to draw Figment!
The session is 30 minutes long. In that time, they walked us through the entire process of drawing our character.
They moved quickly so that it could be done in the 30-minute timeframe, but it was easy to follow and so fun!
Festival of the Arts
The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts started today and continues through February 19, and there’s so much to see, hear, and do!
There are tons of fun and delicious foods and drinks to try.
Musicians entertain crowds daily, including the Disney on Broadway Concert Series each night.
You can watch chalk artists at work, and kids even have a chance to create their own at the Kids Chalk Art area!
These are just some of the many things you can experience at this year’s festival, and you definitely don’t want to miss it!
