Kali River Rapids CLOSED For Refurbishment at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Looks like our trips to Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be a lot less soaked over the coming weeks, as a fan-favorite attraction has just gone down for maintenance in the park!
Keep reading to learn which ride we’re talking about, how long it will be down for, and what this means to guests…
Kali River Rapids
Yep, as previously reported on MickeyBlog, it is Kali River Rapids that has just been closed for refurbishment over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The ride has been made inaccessible to guests starting today, January 8th, and the attraction’s area here in Asia sure is looking quite bereft!
As you can see from these photos taken by our reporters in Animal Kingdom this morning, the ride is completely closed off, with a small group of Cast Members on hand to re-direct guests.
The ride’s signage has all been covered up, as well as the Genie+ boards and MagicBand scanning stations.
In fact, it’s almost hard to tell that there’s a ride here at all!
Moving around the attraction area, we can see the exit has also been blocked off by a temporary doorway to prevent guests from following the trail the wrong way.
According to the Walt Disney World website, the attraction is down for “regularly scheduled maintenance,” with the experience being unavailable until “mid-March.”
This presumably means that no large-scale changes will be made to the attraction itself, just the necessary upkeep to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the ride.
In the meantime, guests should take the time to enjoy other experiences during their day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, such as enjoying an animal trail or riding another exciting attraction, such as the nearby Expedition Everest…if you dare!
