‘The Mandalorian’ Beat Out ‘Loki’ and ‘Ted Lasso’ To Become the Most Watched Original Streaming Series of 2023
Season 3 of The Mandalorian has officially been named the most-watched original streaming series of 2023 for U.S. viewers.
The return of Din Djarin and Grogu beat the likes of Marvel Studio’s Loki, Ted Lasso, Only Murders in the Building, and You to take home the top spot.

Other titles to land in the top ten included Black Mirror (#6), The Bear (#8), and The Witcher (#10).
‘The Mandalorian’ Continues To Prop Up Disney+
The Mandalorian has been the bedrock of Disney+ ever since the series debuted with the streamer in 2019.
While Disney continues to rely on Marvel and Star Wars for streaming success, the company has had trouble finding success outside of the two franchises.

The next season of The Mandalorian will not debut until at least 2025. The question, then, is how Disney+ will fare without Din Djarin.
Looking Ahead to 2024
The 2024 release schedule does feature the arrival of two new Marvel series (Echo and Agatha: Darkhold Diaries) as well as two new Star Wars shows (The Acolyte and Skeleton Crew). Still, none of those shows will have the kind of built-in fanbase that The Mandalorian, Loki, or even Ahsoka had.

For now, Disney can continue to lean on its Mandalorian and Marvel crutch. It may have struck gold with Percy Jackson and the Olympians; however, going forward, the streamer is going to need to continue to find a new source of hits.
