A Child Was Reportedly Injured on Shanghai Disneyland’s Zootopia: Hot Pursuit
A child was reportedly injured after leaving their vehicle on the newly opened Zootopia: Hot Pursuit attraction at Shanghai Disneyland.
Disney posted a message on Monday on the park’s website alerting guests that the attraction had reopened following a short closure.
According to social media posts, a child exited the ride vehicle after dropping her Mickey Ears and was struck by another one of the attraction’s trackless cars.
Disney Responds
“Zootopia: Hot Pursuit will resume operations this morning. All guests are required to comply with the resort’s operational guidelines as they experience the attraction,” the park’s statement read.
“Please also note that in the opening phase, pauses and downtimes may occur from time to time in Zootopia: Hot Pursuit. In the event of a downtime, guests should follow onsite cast members’ instructions. We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our guests during this opening period.”
What is Zootopia: Hot Pursuit
Zootopia: Hot Pursuit uses a trackless ride system similar to Mystic Manor, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
The attraction is the crown jewel of the newly opened Zootopia land in Shanghai Disneyland. On the attraction, guests assume the role of rookie police officers at the Zootopia Police Department. The ride is set after the events of the animated film.
At this time, the extent of the young guest’s injuries is not known.
