‘Lizzie McGuire’ Producer Stan Rogow Has Passed Away at 75
Veteran Hollywood writer, producer, and music manager Stan Rogow has passed away at the age of 75.
Rogow was born in Brooklyn in 1948 and eventually graduated from the Boston University School of Law.
Hollywood Career
By 1980, the trained lawyer worked in Hollywood as a producer with Gerald Isenberg’s Jozak Company. It was with Jozak that Rogow helped develop the Fame TV series based on the 1980 MGM film of the same name about students at a New York performing arts high school. For his work on Fame, Rogow received his first Emmy nomination.
Rogow and Isenberg’s partnership continued through the 1980s until Rogow formed his own production company, Rogow Productions, and began to develop TV pilots and series.
‘Lizzie McGuire’
After having limited success with series like Shannon’s Deal and Nowhere Man in the 1990s, Rogow had a major hit with Lizzie McGuire for the Disney Channel.
The Hillary Duff vehicle would run for 58 episodes and earn Rogow two Emmy nominations.
Following the end of Lizzie McGuire, Rogow would find continued success with Flight 29 Down and Woke Up Dead. He was also credited as the producer of The Lizzie McGuire Movie.
Rogow is survived by his sister, Marian Levine, a son, Jackson Rogow, and grandson, Vega Rogow.
A service will be held for Rogow at 10 a.m. on December 11 at Mout Sinai Memorial Park and Mortuaries in Los Angeles.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Stan’s family and friends at this time.
