‘Star Wars’ Fans Are Still Not Over Kylo Ren Killing Han Solo
Perhaps the most shocking moment in the Star Wars sequel trilogy came in Star Wars: The Force Awakens when Kylo Ren surprisingly killed his father Han Solo.
While it has been almost a decade since the film’s release, Adam Driver says he still hasn’t heard the end of it from Star Wars fans.
“Not every day, but yeah. It used to be more but now it’s probably once a month someone will let me know that I killed Han Solo,” he told Chris Wallace.
Filming The Scene
When it came to filming the iconic scene, Driver admitted that it didn’t feel “tough” but was instead “very emotional shooting it with Harrison.”
“Harrison was so generous and contemplative, and to me that was a great moment on set, even though it was his death,” the actor said.
Driver Was Nervous At ‘The Force Awakens’ Premiere
Kylo Ren killing Solo was a turning point for the character, the moment when he seemingly chose the Dark side of the force over the Light.
In 2017, Driver told GQ that he was “sick to my stomach” during the Force Awakens premiere.
“The people behind me, when the scroll started, were like ‘Oh my god. Oh my god. It’s happening.’ Immediately, I thought I was going to puke,” Driver said. “I was holding my wife’s hand, and she’s like, ‘You’re really cold. Are you OK?’ Because I just knew what was coming — I kill Harrison — and I didn’t know how this audience of 2,000 people was going to respond to it, you know?”
While Adam Driver’s Star Wars story is likely over, it is great to hear the actor reflecting on his iconic role.
