Cast Members Make Memories At World of Frozen Grand Opening
As part of the grand opening festivities for Hong Kong Disneyland’s World of Frozen, Cast Members gathered for one of the truly great Disney traditions- a pep rally and group photo celebrating the individuals chosen to open the gates.
Monica, a carver at Tick Tock Toys & Collectibles, arrived early at the pep rally, hoping to get a good spot. She never imagined, however that she would rub elbows with Disney royalty.
“I arrived at the Friendship Fountain very early and was hoping to see Queen Anna,” she said. “I didn’t expect that after the honorary guests finished speaking on stage, they would come down and stand on both sides of me.”
Monica not only ended up standing front and center, but also between Anna and Elsa, whom she “had always dreamed of seeing. I was so happy and excited! They were so friendly, and talking to them was such a magical moment for me.”
Just behind the citizen of Arendele was Disney CEO Bob Iger and Chairman of Disney Experiences Josh D’Amaro. What a memory!
Mossie Was on Hand
A couple of rows behind Monica was another celebrity- Mossie, the baby troll and love expert in training. The young troll was able to learn more about the human world from the Cast Members on hand.
“It was very fun that day,” said her nari (or teacher). “Mossie and I made many new friends!”
Disney Ambassadors
Also on hand for the opening day festivities were the current and incoming Disney Ambassadors representing Hong Kong Disneyland.
On the far right of the photo was Sammy Phu, Disney Ambassador from 2017 until 18, who is now an attraction operations manager.
“I was very glad to witness the moment,” said Sammy. She was also excited to meet the incoming Global Disney Ambassador 2024-25 team at the grand opening.
A Familiar Face
Last but not least, longtime readers of MickeyBlog may recognize another citizen of Arendelle in the photo. In the front-right of the photo is Annto.
She represented Mystic Manor at the global gathering of Haunted Mansion Cast Members for the world premiere of Disney’s Haunted Mansion at Disneyland.
“I am incredibly grateful that the celebration brought together some old and new friends,” said Annto
All in all, it was a magical day in Arendelle and the perfect way to celebrate the opening of World of Frozen.
