NEW Disney Holidays in Hollywood Show Debuts in Hollywood Studios
We’re back with more from Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
We’ve already shown you the map, wristband, and lanyard, and now we’re watching a special show — starring the Muppets!
Disney Holidays in Hollywood
Over at the Theater of the Stars, you can catch the variety show called Disney Holidays in Hollywood. This show takes place at 8:45PM, 9:45PM, 10:45PM, and 11:45PM.
As soon as we were in the park, a line began forming, so we hurried over to join.
The line was fairly extensive even before Jollywood Nights officially began!
Disney describes this show as “a dynamic musical rooted in the glitz and glamor of a Hollywood TV special with a contemporary twist of Disney holiday magic.” We knew the Muppets were involved, but we weren’t totally sure what to expect!
Kermit the Frog introduced the band and the show, which started with jingle bells and a dance number.
After that, Kermit and Miss Piggy were introduced, and they welcomed everyone and talked about what Christmas meant to them.
Miss Piggy sang “Babes in Toyland,” and Kermit talked about the season of giving — but Piggy also wants presents. They then introduced their cohosts.
The hosts talked about Christmas in New Orleans and how Tiana’s Place is a must-stop for beignets. Princess Tiana appeared to sing about what the holidays mean to her!
Kermit and Miss Piggy then returned to the stage, with Kermit in a Santa hat. Piggy was a little upset about the costume change but Kermit says he’ll make it up to her with a churro and a spirit jersey.
The Jolly 8 band began playing, followed by Mickey and Minnie coming out on stage. While Mickey was in charge of the tree, Minnie was in charge of decorating — but then Mickey surprised Minnie with a tree and Minnie surprised Mickey with a decorated mantle!
Belle later came out to sing “As Long As There’s Christmas.”
Eventually, everyone came back on stage for the finale. What a great show!
