WooHoo! A ‘DuckTales’ Gingerbread Carousel is Coming to Disney’s Beach Club Resort
While the gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is now open, Disney World’s gingerbread work is not done.
Over at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, artisans are hard at work constructing a gingerbread carousel!
A ‘DuckTales’ Carousel!
While that is impressive in and of itself, this carousel is not only holiday-themed, it is DUCKTALES THEMED.
If you grew up in the 1980s or 1990s, then the adventures of Scrooge McDuck and his nephews hold a special place in your heart. Luckily, the DuckTales reboot was also widely popular, introducing the characters to a new generation of fans.
Clearly taking inspiration from the DuckTales World Showcase Adventure, the carousel is adorned with various characters from the DuckTales reboot.
If you look closely at the carousel’s canopy, you can see Huey, Dewey, Louie, Donald, Scrooge, Webby, and even Mrs. Beakly are all represented in between the flags of World Showcase’s countries.
Here is a closer look at Louie- the detail is amazing!
Make sure you look out for all of the characters and the flags from the countries around World Showcase!
The top of the carousel is adorned with both Spaceship Earth and the DuckTales logo.
The center pillar of the carousel features duck footprints. I love everything about this carousel.
We also saw the horses on the carousel!
We’re not 100% sure what each horse is representing, but we’ll be sure to check back find out!
It looks like they’re representing a few of the countries — we can clearly see the Mexican flag on one horse.
We even saw the addition of a duck on top of one of the horses.
This was definitely a bit of an unexpected theme, but we’re absolutely loving it!
The Completed Carousel
We returned to Beach Club later today to see the completed gingerbread carousel, and it’s pretty awesome!
Bakers added some final touches like these additional cakes…
…and characters.
The theme is confirmed to be the DuckTales World Showcase Adventure at EPCOT.
They also have a display showing you everything involved with the carousel. Just look at how much flour and icing is used!
These bakers worked so hard to bring this thing to life.
And yes, it does actually spin like a real carousel!
Let’s take a closer look at some of the characters on board! This horse seems to be themed to Germany.
We can also see Mexico on this skeleton horse!
Next up, we have the horse representing France.
And finally, we have the United Kingdom horse, I believe. It’s very much leaning into Scotland theming!
Can you even believe this things was made out of edible ingredients?!
Make sure you stop by to check it out for yourself!
As always, be sure to check back with MickeyBlog. We will continue to bring you updates on all the holiday festivities taking place around Walt Disney World.
