After Winning $25,000 a Year For Life, Michigan Women Says She’s Going to Walt Disney World
Despite the fact that I have never played the lottery before, I often imagine what I would do if I won.
As any Disney fan would do, my mind drifts to Walt Disney World. Would I buy a house at Golden Oaks? Rent out one of the old EPCOT corporate lounges? Or perhaps finally stay at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort? The possibilities are endless.

Well just like me, a Michigan woman who won $25,000 a year for life knew one thing after winning the lottery — she was going to Walt Disney World.
Shayla Kauflin Wins Michigan Lucky For Life Lottery
Shayla Kauflin of Warren, Michigan won the jackpot when her Lucky for Life ticket matched on October 9. She had bought the winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com

“This ticket was the very first Lucky For Life ticket I have ever bought,” said Kauflin. “When I was purchasing my Powerball tickets online, I saw the Lucky For Life game listed and thought: ‘Why not?’ and bought $10 worth of tickets,” she recalled.
The next day, logged into her Lottery account and was in for quite the surprise.

“I logged in to my Lottery account the next day to see if I’d won anything, and when I saw $390,000 pending, I started screaming, crying, and freaking out! I called my husband to tell him how much I’d won, and he was concerned at first because he thought something was wrong.”
Going to Disney World
After winning, Kauflin visited the lottery headquarters to claim her prize. Instead of receiving annual payments of $25,000 for the next 20 years, or life, whichever is greater, Kauflin chose to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $390,000.

“Winning is indescribable! It feels like the weight of the world has been taken off my shoulders. It may not be enough money to change the world, but it’s enough money to change my world!”
Speaking of worlds, what will Kauflin do with her winnings. She plans on taking a trip to Disney World!
