Listen To Chris Pine Perform “This is The Thanks I Get?!” From Disney’s ‘Wish’
When Disney’s Wish premieres in theaters on November 22, the film will not only introduce the newest heroine into the Disney canon, but it will also reveal the next great Disney villain — King Magnifico.
For those who don’t know, Wish will introduce audiences to the Kingdom of Rosas, a magical land located off of the Iberian Peninsula.
There, a 17-year-old girl named Asha senses a darkness that no one else does about the kingdom’s popular ruler King Magnificio. While the royal, who is the keeper of wishes, may seem to care for his people’s wishes and dreams, he really rules by giving them false hope.
In her moment of desperation, Asha makes a passionate plea to the stars. Her wish is answered when a celestial body named Star actually falls to earth.
Together, Star and Asha must overcome the evils rising in Rosas.
Introducing King Magnifico
Unlike recent Disney villains who have largely been characterized as misunderstood or simply mistaken, King Magnifico is promising to be a real evil character.
Voiced by Chris Pine, the king may say the right things in public, but his true intentions are more sinister.
Disney Previews ‘Wish’ Songs
In the weeks leading up to Wish’s release, Disney is previewing a new song every Wednesday. Last week, Disney unveiled Asha’s showstopping number “This Wish.”
This week, Disney is teasing that the newly revealed song will be performed by King Magnifico himself — ” This Is The Thanks I Get?!”
Listen To “The Thanks I Get”
In the new clip, Chris Pine can be seen in the recording booth laying down vocals for the song. Side by side with him, King Magnifico performs in the film!

In the new song, Magnifico sings about all the things he has done for his people (“I clean up all your messes and I’m always there when you need to vent”) but bemoans that they are not thankful enough.
“This is The Thanks I Get?!” sounds like another winner from ‘Wish.’ I can’t wait to hear the full song tomorrow!
Wish will hit theaters on November 22.
