Disney Brothers Studio Founded (1923)
On this day in 1923, The Disney Brothers Studio was officially founded!
The studio would eventually become today’s The Walt Disney Company.
The Spider and the Fly Released (1931)
On this day in 1931, The Spider and the Fly was released.
In the Silly Symphony, insects go to war in a kitchen filled with houseflies.
Pop Century Delayed (2001)
On this day in 2001, Disney announced that they would delay the opening of Pop Century.
Tourism at Walt Disney World had dropped off following the September 11 terrorist attacks.
High School Musical 3 Premieres (2008)
On this day in 2008, High School Musical 3 had its North American debut at USC.
Three thousand people attended the premiere screening at the home of the Trojans.
Toy Story of Terror Premieres (2013)
On this day in 2013, Toy Story of Terror premiered on ABC.
The Halloween special followed the events of Toy Story 3 and found Bonnie’s toys caught in a big conspiracy.
Clouds Premiered (2020)
On this day in 2020, Clouds premiered on Disney+.
In the film, young musician Zach Sobiech discovers he has cancer, and decides to follow his dream of making an album.
Meet the Chimps Premieres
Also on this day in 2020, Meet the Chimps premiered on Disney+.
The new docuseries was narrated by Jane Lynch and focused on the residents of Chimp Haven, a 200-acre chimpanzee sanctuary in Louisiana.
