Important Information! 8 Lesser Madagascar Hedgehog Tenrecs Born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is my favorite park at Walt Disney World.
The unique opportunities that the park gives you to not only see but interact with all kinds of animals from around the world are truly second to none.
Even if you took away DinoLand and Pandora, I would still be able to entertain myself just by going on the Kilimanjaro Safaris and walking the park’s many animal trails.
Well, if you are like me and love to keep tabs on our furry friends at Animal Kingdom, I have news to report!
These Lesser Madagascar Hedgehog Tenrec Babies Are Adorable
Glitter Toaster Strudel, a Lesser Madagascar hedgehog tenrec, has just welcomed eight newborns at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Look how adorable they are!
You may have previously spotted Glitter Toaster Strudel at the Conservation Station at Rafiki’s Planet Watch.
The Lesser Madagascar hedgehog tenrec is an ambassador animal, who helps teach guests about the species and how they can protect wildlife.
So, next time you visit Rafiki’s Planet Watch, keep your eyes peeled. You may just spot Glitter Toaster Strudel and her babies.
The More You Know
Finally, I’ll leave you with a fun fact from Dr. Mark at Disney.

As it turns out, Madagascar hedgehog tenrecs are not hedgehogs at all! They are actually more closely related to moles!
