One-of-a-Kind Marvel Items Will Hit Auction This October!
On October 12, Marvel fans will get the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind items the Marvel Cinematic Universe and original comic artwork.
In celebration of the Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary celebration, the company is launching Disney’s Create 100. The auction will bring together international artists and creators to contribute items for the auction based on their own particular talents and relationship to Disney and Marvel.
The auction will run from October 12 until October 30. At the culmination of the event, Disney will donate $1 million to Make-A-Wish. The money will support the granting of life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Since 1980, Disney has granted over 150,000 wishes, making them the biggest wish granter in the world.
Pieces of Marvel History Up For Auction
Among the most high-profile items in the auction will be Thor’s axe Stormbreaker from Avengers: Infinity War. The item is described as “Designed by the Dwarves of Nidavellir and forged by Thor of Asgard.”
Other items include signed pieces of original art including Chris Allen’s variant cover art for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #42.
Also up for auction will be a signed sketch of Iron Man’s Mark 1 armor, which captures the origins of Tony Stark.
Finally, artist Thiago Toes is offering an oil painting that explores the many personalities of Moon Knight, while Dr. Lisa Williams is contributing a unique doll inspired by the Wakandan heroes.
