WATCH: Disney Releases Eerie New ‘Goosebumps’ Trailer
On Friday, October 13th, Disney fans will get quite the scare when the new Goosebumps series premieres.
The chilling new series is based on the popular R.L. Stine book series that has both frightened and entertained readers for over 30 years.
The new Goosebumps series will draw on elements from five of the series’ most popular books including: Say Cheese and Die!, The Haunted Mask, The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, Go Eat Worms!, and Night of the Living Dummy.
When the series was announced, Disney promised “elevated thrills and chills.” Based on the trailer, it looks like they will deliver.
“R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps franchise is a pop culture phenomenon that holds a special place in the hearts of people of all ages,” said Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television. “We are delighted to bring this spooky new series to audiences everywhere in a big way on Disney+ and Hulu, which we hope will not only captivate new audiences with its elevated thrills and chills but also lifelong fans nostalgic for the stories that are a staple of their generation.”
A Shadowy Murder Mystery
The series will follow a group of five high school students as they embark on a “shadowy and twisted” journey to investigate the tragic passing of a teen named Harold Biddle three decades earlier.
As they dive into the mystery, Harold’s death leads them to a dark secret from their parents’ past.
In a new trailer released today by Disney, fans got a glimpse of what to expect in the new series.
In the clip, Nathan Bratt, a new English teacher moves into the “old Biddle house” where Harold Biddle was murdered three decades before.
Harold Biddle then appears to possess Bratt, perhaps in order to get revenge on the children of the people who led to his death.
If you grew up in the 1990s like me, then you will remember just how popular the Goosebumps series was. I for one, can’t wait for this new series to air!
