‘Carl’s Date’ Arrives on Disney+ Tomorrow!
Pixar fans will be in for a fun surprise tomorrow when the Up short Carl’s Date premieres on Disney+.
For those who don’t remember, Carl’s Date originally debuted with Elemental when the film hit theaters on June 16, 2023. The cartoon was the first Pixar short to be released in theaters since 2018 when Bao was released with Incredibles 2.
Carl Tries To Go On A Date
The new Pixar short follows the events of Up and sees Carl Fredricksen reluctantly go on his first date since his late wife Ellie’s death.
As it turns out, Carl has no idea how to date and turns to Dug for advice.
In addition to featuring the return of Carl and Dug, the cartoon was also one of the final projects that Ed Asner (who voices Carl) was involved in before his death in 2021.
A Long Time Coming
For Pixar fans, it has been a long wait for Carl’s Date to land on Disney+. When the short was initially announced, Disney stated that it would arrive on streaming on February 10, 2023.
Perhaps because Disney decided to show Carl’s Date before Elemental, the debut was then pushed back to September 13.
For fans who like to own physical media, the short will be available as a bonus feature on the Ultra HD, Blue-Ray, and DVD releases of Elemental.
