A HUGE Volunteer Perk Has Been Removed by runDisney
Some of Disney’s most popular events are hosted by runDisney (which may come as a surprise to those who aren’t fans of jogging). The runDisney events provide a magical twist to running, which is why they sell out with lightning speed.
And these events couldn’t happen without the help of volunteers. In past events, runDisney volunteers received complimentary park tickets — a huge perk for Disney fans. But that perk has now been removed by runDisney…here’s why.
runDisney Volunteers
Volunteers at runDisney events are tasked with playing a huge part in each runner’s journey. From providing runners with water to cheering them along the course — these volunteers bring magic to each race. The runDisney volunteers also start working well before the sun comes up, just to help bring runners a well-operated event.
Removal of Complimentary Theme Park Tickets
Rewarding these special volunteers with complimentary theme park tickets was an amazing way to honor them for their efforts. But according to the runDisney website, volunteers will no longer be offered this reward in the upcoming season — take a look:
Keeping with the “spirit of volunteerism,” complimentary park tickets will no longer be given to runDisney volunteers. When signing up to volunteer at the upcoming 2023 Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, volunteers are asked to check a box, acknowledging that they will not expect any type of compensation — including complimentary theme park tickets.
We’ll let you guys know if this perk returns for volunteers of other upcoming races. Until then, continue to stay tuned to MickeyBlog for the latest in all things Disney!
