This Day in Disney History- September 4
Welcome back to our continuing journey through the history of The Walt Disney Company. Today we are looking at the events on this day in Disney history- September 4.
September 4th was a slower day in Disney history, but it still featured the opening of a new Disney park, the closure of DisneyQuest, and the premiere of a live-action Disney remake. So, let’s get started!

Jack and the Beanstalk Released (1922)
On this day in 1922, the Laugh-O-Gram silent cartoon Jack and the Beanstalk was released.

How to Play Baseball Released (1942)
On this day in 1942, the Goofy cartoon How to Play Baseball was released.

True to its name, the short featured Goofy teaching the fundamentals of baseball.
The Spirit of Pocahontas Performed For the Final Time (1997)
On this day in 1997, The Spirit of Pocahontas was performed for the final time in the Disneyland Theater.

The show had originally opened in
P.U.N.K.S Premieres (1999)
On this day in 1999, the Disney Channel Original Movie P.U.N.K.S. premiered.

The film told the story of a group of misfit teams who steal, and then try to return, a suit that gives its wearer superhuman strength.
Tokyo DisneySea Opens (2001)
On this day in 2001, Tokyo DisneySea had its grand opening.
Tokyo Disney Resort’s newest park, Tokyo DisneySea was broken up into seven different lands- Mediterranean Harbor, Mysterious Island, Mermaid Lagoon, Arabian Coast, Lost River Delta, Port Discovery, and American Waterfront.
DisneyQuest Chicago Closes (1999)
Also on this day in 1999, DisneyQuest Chicago closed.

The indoor interactive theme park had originally opened on July 16, 1999, and was the first DisneyQuest to open outside of a Disney resort.
The Tower of Terror Opens (2006)
On this day in 2006, the Tower of Terror opened at Tokyo DisneySea.

Unlike other Tower of Terrors, Tokyo DisneySea’s version of the attraction has no connection to The Twilight Zone, but instead is themed as the Hotel Hightower, an 1890s New York City hotel.
Yin Yang Yo Premieres (2006)
On this day in 2006, Yin Yang yo! premeired on Toon Disney and Jetix.

The new animated series followed the story of tween rabbits who put their sibling rivalry aside to learn a lost martial arts form.
Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams Released (2009)
On this day in 2009, Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams was released direct-to-video.

Tokyo DisneySea’s 10th Anniversary Begins (2011)
On this day in 2011, Tokyo DisneySea’s 10th Anniversary celebration “Be Magical” began.

The Fountain View Reopens (2013)
On this day in 2013, the Fountain View restaurant reopened in Epcot.

The Original Pioneer Hall Players Reunite (2014)
On this day in 2014, the original Pioneer Hall Players reunited to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review.

Mulan Premiers On Disney+ (2020)
On this day in 2020, Mulan premiered on Disney+.

The live-action remake of the 1998 Disney animated classic was originally expected to open in theaters but was moved to streaming following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earth to Ned Debuts (2020)
Finally, on this day in 2020, the new Disney+ series Earth to Ned debuted.

The new series told the story of a blue-skinned alien who was sent to scout Earth for an eventual invasion.
