The Doubloon Lagoon Pool At Port Orleans- French Quarter Is Closing Next Year For Refurbishment
Guests staying at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort- French Quarter early next year should be forewarned. The resort’s Doubloon Lagoon pool will be closed for routine maintenance.
The centrally located pool is expected to be closed from January 2024 through April 2024. Guests staying at French Quarter may see or hear construction work during daytime hours.
The Doubloon Lagoon Pool
For those unfamiliar with Disney’s Port Orleans-French Quarter, the Doubloon Lagoon pool is located in the center of the resort.
Fan-favorite theming like an all-alligator band and King Neptune can be found at the pool, where you are immersed in the fun of Madi Gras.
My favorite part of the pool, aside from perhaps the nearby Mardi Grogs pool bar, is the 51-foot-long sea serpent slide! His tongue deposits you into the lagoon with a splash!
Where To Swim During The Pool’s Closure
Unlike most of Walt Disney World’s other resorts, Port Orleans- French Quarter does not have any other pools on its grounds.
With that being said, French Quarter is just a short walk (or boat ride!) from Disney’s Port Orleans- Riverside resort.
During the duration of the Doubloon Lagoon closure, guests will have to head over to Riverside’s Ol’ Man Island pool or one of the five leisure pools around Riverside. So, if you plan on staying at French Quarter next year, make sure you plan accordingly!
We here at MickeyBlog will continue to monitor the Doubloon Lagoon refurbishment and bring you any updates along the way. So, be sure to check back soon!
