Pencils and Passion: A Student Art Exhbition To Open At the Walt Disney Family Museum
The Walt Disney Family Museum is opening a new exhibit, featuring the art of achievements of the museum’s students.
Pencils and Passion: A Student Art Exhibition will be a celebration of the museum’s educational initiatives and the work of its students.

The new exhibit will be the 37th original exhibition produced by the museum. It will highlight the artwork of both past and present students.
The museum says that the new exhibition will also recognize the accomplishments of its alumni, and chronicle the development of The Walt Disney Family Museum Animation Academy.

A Wide Array Of Medius
Pencils and Passion will feature over 280 works created by 121 artists. The wide range of traditional artwork media will include watercolor, acrylic, and oil paintings, in addition to charcoal, ink, clay, ceramic, needle felting, and paper art.

The exhibit will also feature multi-media work including storyboards, comics, maquettes, scupltures, character designs, concept art, costume designs, and film scripts.

“A decade ago, the museum committed itself to offer focused and engaging educational opportunities based on the art of animation. Classes and workshops are available to students of all ages. With an emphasis on serving students from marginalized and under-resourced communities.” Said Kirsten Komoroske, Executive Director of The Walt Disney Family Museum.

The new exhibit will be held in the museum’s lower lobby and run from May 11, 2023, through the Fall of 2023. The exhibit will be free for the public.
