Tornado Watch in Effect For Disney World and Central Florida
Good morning MickeyBlog friends. We are waking up to grey skies, winds, and plenty of rain today.
Hurricane Idalia made landfall early Wednesday morning and parts of Central Florida are feeling the impacts.
The National Weather Service has also issued a tornado watch for most of Central Florida this morning.
Tornado Watch
According to the National Weather Service, a few tornados are likely to form in counties closest to Idalia and its feeder bands.
The counties included are Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Volusia, Polk, Lake and Sumter.
Dangerous weather conditions could include rains, isolated hail, and wind up to 75 mph.
Idalia Update
Hurricane Idalia made landfall just before 8am this morning driviing into Florida’s Big Bend near Keaton Beach.
The hurricane made landfall as an “extremely dangerous” Category 3 hurricane after being downgraded from a Category 4. The system featured maximum sustained winds of 125 mph with higher gusts as it made landfall.

If you are lucky enough to be visiting Walt Disney World today, you are in luck! The Disney theme parks are operating business as usual, and are open for normal operational hours.
