VIDEO: First Look Inside Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana in EPCOT
Disney’s newest upcoming attraction is not a ride, but a walk-through experience for guests.
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana will be a walkthrough water experience in EPCOT, scheduled to open sometime in late 2023. With Cast Member previews quickly approaching, Disney has shared a first look inside Journey of Water!
First Look Inside Journey of Water
Journey of Water will take guests on an educational journey about the water cycle and how it affects us and the world around us, with the opportunity for guests to take the trail as fast or as slowly as they want — and choose whether they want to stay dry or get wet.
Cast Member previews for Journey of Water take place between September 1st and 22nd, and Disney has just shared a new look inside the trail!

In the video, we get a fresh look at the interactive water journey, with Te Fiti herself gazing over the water.
Many of the water features are interactive, which means you can “play” with the water for different effects. In this area, guests can touch the water to hear music, and we’re guessing that you could even put the notes together to play a song!
There is also an area where guests can work together to impact the water! This looks like Cast Members are causing a big water fountain eruption.
Disney shared an alternative point of view on Instagram, showcasing how certain hand movements will likely be an important way guests can interact with water.

Disney released a few official photos showing other ways guests will be able to “play” with water. If we had to guess, Journey of Water will be popular among kiddos — especially on a hot day!
