What Will Disney Be Like in February 2024?
You may be thinking about Halloween right now, but you should have your eye on early 2024.
Walt Disney World vacations will provide the escape you need during what’s expected to be a harsh winter.
What will Disney be like in February 2024? The magic word is, “warm!”
About February Visits
No matter where you live, you’re likely to experience what most Americans call “seasons.”
I’m talking about the times when the weather changes. Generally, during the first quarter of the year, the temperatures drop precipitously.
Then, there’s the precipitation. I don’t want to bum you out with reminders about scraping the ice off your car and shoveling your driveway…but you know.
When you visit Walt Disney World, you’ll discover an oasis, a place that somehow avoids wintry weather for the most part.
Even better, several ongoing events and entertainment options will provide you with the joy of a Disney vacation…WHILE you escape the cold.
Let’s Talk about the Weather
How warm is Disney in February? Obviously, the answer varies, and weather fluctuations have become a thing everywhere.
Still, we know from the historical data that odds are good that Orlando, Florida, will be warmer than wherever you live.
I say this because the average low temperature in Central Florida in February is 56 degrees.
In many parts of the country, that would qualify as shorts weather compared to what you’d expect in February.
Seriously, Orlando rarely drops below 40 degrees in February, something I can’t even say where I am…and I live in the south.
As for the high temperature, Central Florida hovers in the range of 75 degrees but almost never rises above 83 degrees.
So, we’re talking about a vacation in a place that’s somewhere between lukewarm and warm…but almost never hot. Doesn’t that sound lovely in February?
You should know a few other parts of weather patterns in Central Florida in February.
First, if you see a snowflake here, you’re probably visiting a Frozen attraction of some sort.
Otherwise, you’re probably nestled in your comfy Disney hotel bed, dreaming about the weather you’ve escaped at home.
Orlando almost never gets snow. Period.
Also, keep in mind that the temperature increases as the month advances, at least as a rule.
Again, I’m no meteorologist, nor do I have access to Madame Leota’s crystal ball.
I’m simply stating that late February is technically warmer than early February. Please keep that in mind when planning your trip.
What to Expect at Disney
You’ll love visiting Disney at this time of year for two reasons.
The first is that the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts will provide you with plenty of entertainment.
This annual event typically lasts through the first three weeks of February.
At the time of publication, Disney hasn’t announced its 2024 dates yet, though.
Please keep checking back with MickeyBlog for official confirmation.
However, I can tell you that last year’s festival ran through February 20th.
As a reminder, this festival celebrates the arts in all forms. Disney performers appear at the park and perform tricks.
Some act like moving paintings, while others juggle or mimic your movements.
The most memorable popular part of this festival is…well, it’s the food. The artistic snacks will dazzle your eyes and your palate.
However, the second-most popular part is DISNEY ON BROADWAY, a nightly series of concerts.
These performances star the same people who perform in Disney Broadway plays, the kind people pay hundreds of dollars to watch.
You get to watch for free, presuming that you’re lucky enough to buy tickets.
I typically tell friends that they should order a DISNEY ON BROADWAY dining package just to be safe.
The other exciting aspect of a Disney vacation in February is that it’s the first full month for the return of the Disney Dining Plan!
That’s right, my friends! One of your favorite Disney add-ons has finally come back after a four-year absence!
Disney has even streamlined its offerings to make them less confusing and easier to understand.
You’ll want the dining plan during this trip and should speak with a MickeyTravels agent about the best option for your vacation!
Other Central Florida Happenings in February
Central Florida has exploded with activity in recent years. The exponential growth in the region has led to better entertainment options.
For example, you can watch Moulin Rouge! The Musical at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts from February 20th through early March.
Sports fans are in luck as well. While the football season will have ended, the NBA is just heating up.
On paper, the Orlando Magic appear likely to make a jump thanks to a young core of Paulo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Wendell Carter Jr., and Anthony Black.
You can be early on the bandwagon by showing your support for this ascending team.
Orlando SC will also be starting its regular season schedule in February.
Without knowing the dates, yet, I’m merely speculating here, but there’s a chance you could watch Lionel Messi work his magic if Orlando plays Inter Miami.
You’ll also find several concerts and the occasional festival/convention in Central Florida as well.
So, you won’t lack for entertainment if you’re willing to leave the Disney Bubble for a while.
Final Thoughts
Let’s employ Occam’s Razor here.
Where you live, it’ll be cold in February, right?
Will any Broadway performers sing at a concert near you? And will any chef create a multi-colored dessert that tastes like ambrosia?
Do you have a roller coaster as good as Tron Lightcycle / Run where you live?
I’m guessing that the answer to all these questions will guide you toward one simple truth.
You’ll have more fun at Walt Disney World in February than you will where you live.
What will Walt Disney World be like in February 2024? The answer is, “MUCH better than your other options.”
