Funko Games’ ‘Disney Animated’ Earns ‘Game of the Year’ Nomination
You may not be aware of the inner workings of the board game world, but luckily we here at MickyBlog have you covered.
Yesterday, The Toy Foundation (TTF) announced its nominations for the prestigious Toy of the Year Award nominations, and the big winner was Funko Games and Disney!
Funko Games’ Disney Animated board game that was released earlier this year as part of the Disney100 celebration has earned a Game of the Year nomination. Meanwhile, Funko’s Cranium Big Brain: Detective Game was nominated for STEAM Toy of the Year.
Disney Animated Is Up For Game Of The Year
For Disney fans, the big news will be the DIsney Animated nomination. The Game of the Year nominee allows players to work together like a team a the Walt Disney Animation Studios to create movie magic!
While playing the game, teams can produce five classic Disney films using detailed background art, vibrant paint colors, and lively sound to bring the stories to life.
Featured films include Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia, Alice in Wonderland, 101 Dalmatians, and Aladdin.
Standing in a player’s way are the infamous villains of Disney’s feature films. The antagonists rush to your deadline to create all the calamity they can.
As a team, players must use the strengths of the Animation Studio- Heart, Focus, Inspiration, Grit, and Teamwork to vanquish the villains and finish their film in time.
As Walt Disney once said, “Whatever we accomplish belongs to our entire group, a tribute to our combined efforts.” Now, Disney fans can put that theory to the test and create their own Disney magic.
Cranium Big Brain: Detective Game
Cranium Big Brain: Detective Game meanwhile uses brain-teasing, storytelling, and discovery exercises to educate and engage kids of all ages.
The newest release in the Cranium series celebrates the franchise’s 25th anniversary!
“We’re so proud of our team at Funko Games for creating these outstanding games,” said Andrew Perlmutter, President of Funko. “It’s a testament to the Prospero Hall studio team. And the quality of games they create, for earning their 6th and 7th TOTY Finalist nominations in just 4 years!”
The Toy of the Year Awards will be held in New York City on September 29, 2023. So, we will have some time before the winners are announced. Here is hoping, however, that Disney and Funko come out as the big winners!
