Disney’s Hollywood Studios Is Closing Early On October 17th For A Private Event
If you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World on October 17th, be forewarned. Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be closing for a private event that day at 5 p.m.
The early closing time means that visitors to Hollywood Studios will not get to see Fantasmic! that night.
Gartner IT Symposium
The reason for the park’s early closure is the Gartner IT Symposium, which is taking place from October 16 through the 19th in Orlando. Attendees at the symposium will get exclusive access to Disney’s Hollywood Studios from 6:45 p.m. until 10 p.m. on October 17th.
The symposium will bring together CIOs and IT leaders “to explore the technology, insights and trends shaping the future of IT and business, including accelerating business transformation, cybersecurity, customer experience, data analytics, executive leadership and more”.
Magic Kingdom Also Closing early
If you plan on visiting the Disney Parks on the 17th, you should also know that it is a Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party night, meaning that Magic Kingdom will close at 6:00 p.m. for regular guests.
So, plan accordingly. Perhaps October 17th would be better spent at EPCOT or Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which will operate for their normal hours. EPCOT is open until 9:00 p.m., while Animal Kingdom closes at 7 p.m. that day. Disney Springs will also be open until 11:00 p.m., giving guests who spend the day at either Hollywood Studios or the Magic Kingdom a place to spend their night.
