The Shaggy Dog Begins Filming (1958)
On this day in 1958, filming began on Disney’s newest live-action movie The Shaggy Dog.
Released in March 1959, The Shaggy Dog would eventually be the second-highest-grossing film of the year.
Groundbreaking Takes Place At Disney’s Animal Kingdom (1995)
On this day in 1995, a groundbreaking ceremony took place for Disney’s Wild Animal Kingdom.
The park would eventually open as Disney’s Animal Kingdom in April 1998.
Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World Released (1998)
On this day in 1998, Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World was released.
A sequel to Disney’s Pocahontas, the film was inspired by events that happened in the life of Pocahontas.
Roy E. Disney Celebrates 50th Disney Anniversary (2003)
On this day in 2003, Roy E. Disney celebrated his 50th anniversary with The Walt Disney Company.
Bay Lake Tower Opens (2009)
On this day in 2009, Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort opened.
The new Disney Vacation Club resort was the first new hotel added to the Walt Disney World monorail line in two decades.
