Disney Gives A Preview Of The ‘Dream Makers’ Statue Coming To Hong Kong Disneyland
As part of the Disney100 celebration, Imagineers have been hard at work creating something special! For Hong Kong Disneyland, Imagineers are creating a new Dream Makers statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse!
Dream Makers honors the rich history of The Walt Disney Company while also looking forward to a future of possibilities.

Inspired By Walt’s Disneyland Inspiration
Originally announced at the 2022 D23 Expo, the statue features Mickey and Walt sitting on a bench together.
Dream Makers will be placed in front of the park’s Cinderella Carousel. The statue’s placement is a nod to the moment that Walt first began dreaming up Disneyland while watching his daughters ride the carousel in Griffith Park.

To create room for the statue, The Sword in the Stone was removed.
The statue was sculpted by Patrick Simmons and Erma Yazzie under the supervision of Chris Turner and Scott Goddard.

How The Name Was Chosen
The name of the statue was chosen because it was a great encapsulation of what Mickey and Walt stood for. Additionally, the statue honors Disney’s imagination, creativity, and innovation. Its creators hope to show that they are not just creating but dream-making.

The statue will be officially dedicated on October 16, 2023. That date just so happens to be the day that Walt and Roy founded The Walt Disney Company in 1923.
