REVIEW: Shimmering Sips at the 2023 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival
Hello and welcome to the 2023 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival! The Food & Wine Festival is one of my favorite special events at EPCOT and you can enjoy it from now all the way until November 18th.
Our next stop, as we eat around the park, is Shimmering Sips! As the name implies, mimosas are the specialty at this snack spot.
The menu at this year’s Shimmering Sips is as follows:
Food
- Guava Cake with Whipped Cream and Coconut (plant-based item)
- Emile’s Fromage Montage Prize: Strawberry Cheesecake Soft Serve topped with a Mini Cheesecake and Graham Cracker Crumbs in a Specialty Vessel
Beverages
- Berry Mimosa with Berry Fizz Sparkling Wine and White Cranberry Juice (NEW)
- Tropical Mimosa with Sparkling Wine and Minute Maid® Passion Fruit, Orange, and Guava Juices
- Blood Orange Mimosa with Sparkling Wine and Blood Orange Juice
- Beer Mimosa: Boulevard Brewing Co. Berry Noir Sour Ale and Sparkling Wine
- Mimosa Flight
- CORKCICLE Stemless Flute
First up, we tried the Berry Mimosa for $7. This drink features Berry Fizz Sparkling Wine and White Cranberry Juice.
Unfortunately, this libation doesn’t rank too high on our list. The tartness of the cranberry juice when paired with the berry fizz almost gave this mimosa a medicinal taste — and the cranberry just was definitely the most dominant flavor here. It’s not a drink we would order again!
Next, we tried the Tropical Mimosa with Sparkling Wine and Minute Maid Passion Fruit, Orange, and Guava Juices for $7. Yep, this is a POG mimosa!
MickeyBlogger Madison tried this drink and said that it’s balanced very well and has a great ratio of the juice to the sparkling wine. If you like POG juice and tropical flavors, you’ll love this!
You can also get the Blood Orange Mimosa with Sparkling Wine and Blood Orange Juice for $7, or a Mimosa Flight with all three options for $14.
The Blood Orange has a lot of bitterness that you can sometimes find with the fruit. This one wasn’t super well balanced and almost had a chalkiness to it that MickeyBlogger Madison didn’t enjoy.
But, when put in together in the flight, the Tropical Mimosa just completely outshines the other two options! Madison said that she might have enjoyed the Blood Orange more if she wasn’t immediately comparing it to the Tropical one.
The Tropical Mimosa is by far the best option here and we’d recommend only getting that one if you want a mimosa — it’s just too good!
Shimmering Sips is also the location where you turn in your Emile’s Fromage Montage stamps to get your free treat! This year the reward is once again Strawberry Cheesecake Soft Serve, which comes topped with mini cheesecakes and graham cracker crumbs.
We loved this treat and as an added bonus it comes in a cute souvenir cup! You can find out more about Emile’s Fromage Montage here.
