Gator Statues Gone from Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
Something’s missing from Disney’s Port Orleans Resort!
Now don’t worry, it’s not those divine beignets, but it is a key element of beloved resort aesthetic that guests are sure to notice on their next trip over to the French Quarter. Stick with us, and let’s go investigate together…
On a recent visit, our MickeyBloggers noticed that the French Quarter was looking a little less musical that normal.
Sure, this fan-favorite pick among Disney’s Moderate resorts is often lauded for it’s quaint, peaceful vibes, yet this slight deviation won’t go amiss among those attentive to the beloved, jazz-inspired aesthetic of the place.
Stepping out from French Quarter Square and heading towards Doubloon Lagoon, guests are greeted by this adorable parade of gator statues, each carrying various jazz instruments and dressed like a classic marching band.
These guys make for great photo opportunities and have become synonymous with the French Quarter vibe at Walt Disney World, so you can only imagine our surprise once we realized something had changed in the gator’s line-up!

Yep, it would appear that half the troupe have stepped away to take a break from the band, with just two gator statues remaining!
I mean, we’re sure plenty of gator music can still be made with the remaining sax and drum-playing statues.
However, in terms of aesthetics, this small pathway is looking considerably less jazzy than it used to be!
At present, we can’t say for sure where these figures have gone, although we’re hopeful they’ll just have been removed temporarily for a brief refurbishment.
