Scat Cats Club Cafe Delivers The Taste of New Orleans With Delectable Beignets
Our roving MickeyBlog reporter is at one of my favorite places in all of Walt Disney World to go for a cup of coffee and a sweet treat! If you’ve stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter before, it should come as no surprise that I’m talking about Scat Cat Club Cafe. I lived in New Orleans for years and beignets here are the next best thing to heading to the French Quarter!
At Scat Cats Club Cafe, pride-of-place on the menu goes to their Mickey-shaped Beignets! They come doused with powdered sugar and you can get them in sets of 3 or 6. Throughout the year, the Club Cafe will also serve up Speciality Beignets. You can also get yours with dipping sauces, my favorite is the Chicory Chocolate Ganache.
Those looking for a more substantial sweet treat can also get the Mickey-Shaped Beignet Sundae with a warm beignet, ice cream, sauce, and whipped cream. YUM!
Not staying at Port Orleans French Quarter? If you are staying at sister resort Port Orleans Riverside it’s easy to pop over for some beignets. There’s also a water taxi service from Disney Springs so there’s no excuse not to take advantage of this goodness!
Our MickeyBlogger Kayla said that the beignets she got this morning were light, airy, and delicious. There is a courtyard seating area adjacent to the pick-up area meaning you can enjoy them at Scat Cats or take them with you for an on-the-go-treat.
If you’ve ever had the beignets at Disneyland Resort, these are a little bit different. Kayla said that they’re a bit lighter with more of a croissant texture rather than a dense donut texture.
We recommend that you pair your Mickey-Shaped Beginets with a Cafe au Lait.
This is a simple coffee with steamed milk but it is perfection!
Kayla said that her coffee this morning was the perfect temperature and that the warm milk-to-coffee ratio was just right.
The beignet/au lait combo is a match made in heaven!
