Signage for Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya Now On Display in Japan Pavilion
Our MickeyBlogger is at EPCOT today and popped by the Japan Pavilion where brand new signs have gone up for the new Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya restaurant which will be making its EPCOT debut this Summer.
Here’s a first look at the signage for Shiki- Sai: Sushi Izakaya. The description below the restaurant logo reads:
“Authentic Japanese Sushi – Mitsukoshi offers a festive dining experience in the fun-loving and sociable Izakaya style at Shiki-Sai, “festival of the four seasons.” Enjoy the delights of an open sushi bar and grill immersed in enchanted scenes from the Japanese seasons and festivals.”
The eatery will be housed in the former location of Tokyo Dining which is on the second floor of the Mitsukoshi Department Store building and boasts gorgeous views of World Showcase Lagoon.
A menu has yet to be posted for Shiki-Sai Izakaya and Sushi but Disney has previously revealed that the restaurant will be serving up sushi and teppan items as well as an open sushi bar and grill.
Guests at Shiki-Sai will have the opportunity to watch as your sushi is being prepared. The restaurant also boasts an outdoor area inspired by Kyoto’s famous Phoenix Hall.
Some of the menu highlights that Disney has previously revealed include Kobore Sushi which we’re told translates into “overflowing sushi” and is made with negitoro and nakaochi tuna paired with salmon roe and green onion.
Another menu item to be on the lookout for is the Tokyo Negi Roll which is a combination of green onion tempura, tuna tataki, jalapeno aioli, shredded carrot, and sliced jalapeno.
We’ll leave you with one final menu item which is the Okonomiyaki which is a savory pancake made with flour, eggs, and water. The pancake is then filled with shredded cabbage and bacon and topped with tangy okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, aonori, bonito flakes, and pickled ginger.
With the signage up at Mitsukoshi, we’re optimistic that we’ll be hearing more exciting details about Shiki-Sai soon, including an opening date!
