Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny Ropes In $24 Million On Friday
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny managed to whip up $24 million on its opening day, a strong number for the action-adventure film.
The latest installment in the Indiana Jones franchise is now projecting for a three-day domestic opening of just above $60 million.

That number will be more than enough for Indy to top the domestic box office this weekend, and could set itself up to have a strong Fourth of July holiday.
A Massive Budget
The problem for Disney and Lucasfilm however, is Dial of Destiny’s massive budget. The film cost a whopping $295 million to make, which makes it one of the most expensive films ever made.
In order to recoup that budget, Indiana Jones 5 will have its work cut out for it.
Directed by James Mangold, Dial of Destiny sees Harrison Ford don his iconic fedora for one last adventure. In the film, Jones teams up with his goddaughter Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) in a races against a former Nazi to find an artificial that could change the course of history.

So far, Dial of Destiny has received mostly positive reviews from critics. The film holds a 68% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The End of Indiana’s Story
When reflecting on the end of Indiana Jones’ story, Ford was grateful, but ready for the adventure to end.

“I don’t think I’m going to miss anything. And I appreciate all of the opportunities that the character has given me. I have been very grateful and I have enjoyed myself for the 42 years that we’ve been making these,” Ford told The Hollywood Reporter. “The success of these movies have really given me not only a chance to satisfy a broad audience, but they’ve given me a freedom; because of their success, they’ve given me freedom in my chosen profession. And I’m grateful for that, I’m grateful for everything that’s happened to me. I’m a lucky guy.”
