Orlando Airport Predicts Busy 4th of July Travel Weekend
If you’ve ever traveled through Orlando International Airport (MCO), you know that it’s a REALLY busy airport.
MCO is one of the busiest airports in the world, being an ideal location for travelers visiting Central Florida attractions such as Disney World, and naturally, it gets even busier during peak travel periods. If you’re traveling this 4th of July weekend, here’s what you need to know.
Orlando Airport Will Be BUSY!
In the least surprising news ever, Orlando International Airport is predicting a busy travel period beginning on June 29th. They recommend arriving at the airport at least three hours before your flight, so make sure you build in that extra time.
If you’re picking up a passenger, you should ideally use the cell lot waiting areas. If you’re planning to park, make sure you check for parking availability before you get to the airport.
The #4thofJuly travel period is here and we are red, white, and busy! Please remember to:

According to Click Orlando, significant delays and cancelations at and to MCO began June 28th, and the predicted number of air travelers over the July 4th weekend could even set a pandemic-era record.
Cancelations were attributed to bad weather, crowds, and even understaffed airlines.
The main point we want to make is that if you’re traveling between June 29th and July 6th, make sure you plan for extra time at the airport and have a backup plan in case of any unexpected issues.
If you’re flying out of Orlando International Airport, we strongly recommend getting there at least 3 hours early, and if you have bags or items to check, you may want to get there even earlier.
