Walt Disney World Wait Times for Fourth Week of June 2023
Summer crowds swarmed Disney parks over the past week.
We know that attendance was way up, but how did that impact the lines?
Here are Walt Disney World’s wait times for the fourth week of June 2023.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
MickeyBlog is blessed with some of the finest park reporters on the planet.
So, we generally know how crowded the various parks are based on our daily reports.
Suffice to say that the crowds definitely picked up recently.
That probably happened due to the onset of summer vacation at most schools throughout North America.
Let’s track how the summer break crowds impacted the parks. Here are Animal Kingdom’s average waits for the past week:
- Avatar Flight of Passage – 113 minutes, up 24
- Na’vi River Journey – 80 minutes, up 4
- Kali River Rapids – 49 minutes, up 4
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – 47 minutes, up 7
- Adventurers Outpost – 43 minutes, up 4
- DINOSAUR – 39 minutes, up 5
- Expedition Everest – 37 minutes, up 4
- It’s Tough to Be a Bug! – 13 minutes, no change
- TriceraTop Spin – 10 minutes, no change
This data speaks for itself. Every attraction either held the same wait time as last week or increased. In some instances, it went up a lot.
Overall, guests waited for an average of 49 minutes per attraction, which is 5 minutes or 11 percent more than the previous week.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
A MickeyBlog member mentioned something the other day that blew all our minds.
Her family wanted to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, but there was a problem.
That’s right, folks! At one point last week, the ride required a wait of more than six hours! That’s…too much.
So, I’ll admit to no small amount of trepidation as we evaluate the wait times for the past week.
Here’s how long people stood in line on average at Hollywood Studios:
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – 128 minutes, up 38
- Slinky Dog Dash – 110 minutes, up 4
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith – 76 minutes, up 9
- Toy Story Mania! – 73 minutes, up 9
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway – 71 minutes, up 5
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – 70 minutes, down 4
- Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – 55 minutes, up 6
- Alien Swirling Saucers – 42 minutes, down 2
- Red Carpet Dreams – 40 minutes, up 1
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue! – 29 minutes, up 2
- Celebrity Spotlight – 20 minutes, up 1
- Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy – 17 minutes, down 1
- Muppet*Vision 3D – 13 minutes, down 1
Overall, the news isn’t quite as grim as I’d braced for. The less popular attractions at Hollywood Studios largely held their own.
Still, guests stood in line for an average of 51 minutes, which is five minutes more than last time.
The oddity here is that Smugglers Run dropped even as Rise of the Resistance soared.
Also, I’d idly wondered whether Muppet*Vision 3D would get a bump from the new Disney+ series, The Muppets Mayhem. It didn’t, at least not yet.
EPCOT
Thus far, the phenomenon we’re tracking involves the E-ticket attractions.
Each park’s alpha has increased, while the attractions with lower throughputs have generally gone up a bit or stayed the same.
Was this the case at EPCOT? Let’s find out. Here are the park’s average wait times last week:
- Frozen Ever After – 81 minutes, up 5
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – 73 minutes, up 5
- Test Track – 72 minutes, up 5
- Soarin’ Around the World – 51 minutes, up 11
- Royal Sommerhus – 32 minutes, down 2
- Mission: SPACE – 24 minutes, up 2
- Spaceship Earth – 23 minutes, up 3
- Turtle Talk with Crush – 19 minutes, up 1
- Journey into Imagination with Figment – 18 minutes, up 1
- The Seas with Nemo & Friends – 17 minutes, up 1
- Living with the Land – 16 minutes, up 1
- Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros – 14 minutes, up 1
Overall, EPCOT guests spent an average of 36 minutes in line per attraction, which is two minutes more than last time.
So, we’re three for three on Walt Disney World parks increasing their average waits.
Magic Kingdom
Did Magic Kingdom make the parks four for four? It’s not a foregone conclusion since this park often does its own thing.
Here are Magic Kingdom’s average waits last week:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – 99 minutes, up 9
- Peter Pan’s Flight – 80 minutes, up 1
- Space Mountain – 66 minutes, up 4
- Haunted Mansion – 60 minutes, up 9
- Jungle Cruise – 60 minutes, up 2
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – 51 minutes, up 5
- Pirates of the Caribbean – 49 minutes, up 2
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – 44 minutes, up 2
- Princess Fairytale Hall – 42 minutes, up 2
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – 41 minutes, up 2

- Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid – 37 minutes, up 6

- Pete’s Silly Sideshow – 32 minutes, up 2
- The Magic Carpets of Aladdin – 28 minutes, up 3
- The Barnstormer – 27 minutes, up 3
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant – 27 minutes, up 1

- Mickey’s PhilharMagic – 19 minutes, up 1
- Mad Tea Party – 18 minutes, up 2
- Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor – 18 minutes, up 1
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover – 17 minutes, up 2
- Walt Disney World Railroad – 15 minutes, up 1
- Prince Charming Regal Carrousel – 14 minutes, up 2
- Country Bear Jamboree – 5 minutes, no change
- Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress – 5 minutes, no change
Final Thoughts
Overall, guests waited for an average of 36 minutes, which is three minutes or nine percent more than last time.
As usual, the sheer volume of high-quality attractions at Magic Kingdom keeps its wait times in check relative to the other parks here.
Still, the same behavior occurred everywhere. The top ride at each park increased its wait time by an average of 19 minutes.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance heavily skews this data, but even EPCOT and Magic Kingdom’s alpha attractions averaged a 7-minute rise.
Everybody knows the best attraction at each park and acts accordingly. You can use this knowledge to your advantage during your next visit!
