“Elemental” Could Top The Box Office This Weekend
While “Elemental” did not get off to the box-office start that Disney and Pixar were hoping for, the film seems to be resonating with audiances.
Although the Pixar release only managed a mere $28 million on its opening weekend, the film received strong reviews from audiances, and word-of-mouth began to build. “Elemental” currently holds an audience rating of “A” on CinemaScore.

A Strong Second Weekend
Well, “Elemental’s” connection with audiences may be finally be paying off, as the Pixar film is now in a battle with “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” for the top spot at this weekend’s box office.
Based on Friday’s numbers, both films should gross somewhere between $17 million and $19 million. That would be a fall off of 39% for “Elemental”, an exceptionally strong hold for the film.

With a $200 million budget, it is unlikely that “Elemental” will be able to break even.
Nevertheless, a strong extended run would be a coup for Pixar, which has struggled at the box office with recent releases.
Pixar’s Elemental
Directed by Peter Sohng, “Elemental” takes viewers to Element City, a place where fire, water, earth, and air elements live side-by-side. In the film, a fire element named Ember and a water element named Wade fall in love despite their obvious differences.
