REVIEW: Garden Grill Breakfast Returns at EPCOT
Did you hear the news? The breakfast service has returned to Garden Grill Restaurant at EPCOT!
Yesterday, our MickeyBloggers enjoyed an early-morning feast of farm-fresh ingredients, all served in the most unique rotating restaurant tucked away within the EPCOT World Nature Pavilion.
The incredible Chip ‘n’ Dale Harvest Feast breakfast menu hasn’t been offered at this location for years, so we’ve waited a good long time to eat those Mickey Waffles while taking in views of Living with the Land! Care to join us, and see what we thought of all the delicious food on offer? Read on!
Before the food arrives, let’s just take a minute to appreciate the adorable, not-so-Hidden Mickey placement of those dishes! Such a cute touch to welcome us to our table.
Those plates won’t be empty for long, though, as the smell of cooked breakfast is making our mouths water from across the restaurant!
And there we have it, the food! As you can see from the photos, there is a lot here. After all, Garden Grill famously serves food “family-style,” with a fun “all you care to enjoy” policy in place if you’re hungry for seconds.
Our MickeyBlogger Kayla was among the dining party and shared all her thoughts on the food, which we’ll break down for you with photos below. Keep reading, but prepare for a rumbling tummy!
We’ll start first of all by admiring this dazzling skillet platter.
This included bacon, which Kayla described as “regular Disney bacon.” If you know, you know! It was crispy in some parts and soft in others, which is a good compromise as everyone has different preferences when it comes to bacon.
As well as bacon, there was also grilled flank steak, drizzled in ranchero sauce. This was a highlight of the meal for us for sure, being well-seasoned, moist, tender, and very tasty!
The eggs were traditional and perfectly scrambled, just as you’d expect at breakfast time. We even detected a little bit of cheese in there too, which was a nice touch.
Also on the skillet were hash browns, which Kayla said was a little bit like a hash brown casserole. It consisted of beautifully-seasoned potato hash browns filled with cheese, making it crispy on top, and soft inside.
Last – but certainly not least – in this platter were the iconic Mickey Waffles. After all, you can’t have a Walt Disney World breakfast without them!
Now, as well as the regular platter of food, our party also requested a Vegan serving.
As always, Disney are wonderful at catering to specific dietary requirements, and brought this food out on a separate skillet for us to enjoy, as you can see from the photos. Let’s check it out!
On one side of this vegan skillet, we can see Impossible Meat, which tasted just like a sausage patty. Our MickeyBloggers did feel these tasted slightly dry as though overcooked, but they were seasoned well.
With the eggs, these were plant-based, but didn’t land well either among our reporters. The consistency was good, but there was a slight aftertaste we weren’t fans of.
However, the vegan dish was saved by the addition of Mickey Waffles, which tasted just the same as the regular ones in our opinion!
As you can see from the above photo, our table was also given a large serving of watermelon slices.
We noted that not many Disney restaurants offer fresh fruit as part of their menu, so it’s very much appreciated here at Garden Grill, where the focus is always on fresh ingredients!
Now, one of the most beloved features of a dining experience at Garden Grill is that favorite characters will come out and greet guests while they dine.
Our reporters were eagerly tucking in to the meal, when Mickey himself came by to say hello!
Dressed in perfect plaid attire, Mickey looks like he’s come straight from the garden, gathering ingredients for us to have the most perfect breakfast.
We always love having Mickey say hi, and he was just one of various character friends who stopped by multiple times during our meal. Read more about who we saw here!
Before we move on to discussing the second part of our breakfast, we’ll take a minute to discuss drinks.
Coffee, tea, orange juice, and water are included as part of the experience. Limited alcoholic beverages (such as Mimosas) and specialty drinks are also available off the menu, yet cost extra.
The next food item we’ll discuss was another highlight for our reporters, and that’s the cinnamon breakfast loaf.
Look how delicious this looks!
Kayla described this as being like a mix between monkey bread and cinnamon rolls, with a moist inside and slightly crunchy crust on top. The cinnamon flavor was prominent, complimented by the sweet glaze on top.
A delicious sweet treat to have for breakfast indeed!
Cream and syrup were also served on the side, to drizzle over the bread, the waffles, or anything else you like.
So delicious, and a fantastic way to start an adventure-filled EPCOT day!
To summarize, our MickeyBloggers unanimously agreed that, thanks to the tasty food and fabulous character interactions, the Chip ‘n’ Dale Harvest Feast is an unmissable breakfast experience at EPCOT.
Costing $42 per adult and $27 per child, we appreciate it isn’t a cheap option, however our reporters decided that the quality of the experience made the price tag worthwhile.
Next time you’re planning a morning visit to EPCOT, we’d recommend you look at snagging yourself a reservation for Garden Grill. It’s fantastic to see the place open again for three separate meal services, and we’re sure we’ll be back very soon!
