Scrims Up Around Central Atrium at Disney’s Grand Floridian as Refurbishment Kicks Off
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog then you’ll know that refurbishment has kicked off at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort! The Grand Floridian is the last of Disney World’s Deluxe Monorail Resorts to get a makeover. Currently, the majority of work being carried out on the property is in the main building which will include a new front desk area and club-level rooms.
Earlier this week, we shared images of construction walls up in the Grand Floridian lobby area.
Since our original post, scrims have now gone up around the majority of balconies in the main building.
The Grand Floridian refurbishment is not expected to cut off the lobby area entirely but guests will definitely see/hear signs of construction during the day.
Grand Floridian isn’t giving too much away when it comes to a timeline for the renovation.
However, this is a story that we will continue to follow closely and we’ll keep you posted.
We are sure that whatever changes are made at the Grand Floridan during the refurbishment, the updates will enhance the Victorian-style resort’s whimsical, wonderful glamour.
The construction work also extends to the outside of the main building.
