Auditions Posted for Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular at Disney World
It might only be May, but spooky season is coming up sooner than you think! Disney starts celebrating Halloween in August, so you WILL be seeing pumpkins in the parks when it’s still technically summer.
Disney recently celebrated Halfway to Halloween by announcing the fun things coming for the season this year. One of those things is Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
The party is an after hours separately ticketed event where there’s all kinds of spooky entertainment, food, characters, and more. And, if you want to be a part of it, we have good news for you!
Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular Auditions
Auditions have been posted for dancers for the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! These auditions are in-person, by appointment only, and are taking place on May 31st and June 1st at Disney World.
The description says that “Disney Live Entertainment is seeking a variety of diverse dancers who are local to Central Florida for Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, performed at the Magic Kingdom Park at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, FL. “
Do note that Disney College Program Cast Members are NOT eligible to attend this audition.
The premise of the show is that the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus return to the moral world during the Halloween season and use their magic to throw an evil Halloween party!
The show takes place during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party from August through October. Rehearsals are beginning in July and dancers must have full availability from August through October 31st.
Disney is looking for “dancers with great jazz technique, who are proficient in multiple dance styles including commercial jazz, Fosse and hip hop. Good acting a plus; must be able to easily interact with Sanderson Sisters.”
To sign up, it’s a 2-step process. You must have a Disney Auditions profile and select an available audition appointment time to be considered. You can find more info on this process over at the Disney Auditions website.
Since auditions are happening over 2 days, you should only make one appointment — if you make multiple you might have all of them canceled. The appointments are also first come first serve.
