BREAKING: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Returning to Disney World for 2023
It might only be April, but Disney is already celebrating Halloween! Well, kind of — they’re celebrating Halfway to Halloween.
The spooky season is a BIG deal in Disney World. There’s a ton of decorations, food, merchandise, and more.
So, Disney is getting people all excited with their Halfway to Halloween celebration, which is kind of like a preview of the upcoming festivities. There are some spooky treats in the parks and Disney is sharing some fun things, like Halloween photo filters.
But, the BIG NEWS is finally here — we know which major event is returning to Disney World for Halloween this year!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Returning
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is officially coming BACK later this year for spooky season! The separately-ticketed event will kick off on August 11th.
The event took place in Disney World last year as well, but as we found out in 2020, things can change, so it’s great to know that the party will be happening this year, too!
This party takes place after regular park hours in Magic Kingdom (which closes early on the nights of the party). There is a limited number of tickets, so you usually see significantly less people in the park.
The even will kick off at 7PM on select nights. Let’s take a look at all of the dates below:
- August: 11, 15, 18, 22, 25, 29
- September: 1, 4, 8, 10, 12, 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29
- October: 1, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29, 31
- November: 1
Guests staying at select Disney World hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green can buy tickets starting April 27th. Tickets will be available to all guests starting May 2nd. You can check out the PRICING for the party right here.
With the limited capacity for the event, there are usually shorter lines for many things, including rides! The Halloween Party is a great time to get on popular rides without having to wait for hours and hours.
Disney also confirmed that certain entertainment will be returning to the party this year! Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade is coming back with some of your favorite villains, heroes, Haunted Mansion graveyard diggers, and even some ghoulish new faces!
Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks are returning as well! The show is hosted by The Pumpkin King, AKA Jack Skellington, and features projections, special effects, and lighting paired with fireworks, music, and iconic Disney characters.
Oh, and we can’t forget the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stage show! The Sanderson Sisters are back and they’re brewing up a party potion on the stage in front of Cinderella Castle.
There are also usually opportunities to see some rare characters and classic characters in their Halloween costumes! Not only that, but all guests are also allowed to wear costumes to the party, which adults are not allowed to do during regular park hours.
The park will be decked out in Halloween decor, but there are also usually some exclusive spooky ride overlays (but Disney hasn’t confirmed these yet!). In the past, there have been Halloween ride overlays at Pirates of the Caribbean, Mad Tea Party, Space Mountain, and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor.
Disney also confirmed that TRON Lightcycle / Run will be available during the party and will use a virtual queue. This should work just like it does during normal hours, but with a different time to grab your boarding pass.
And, there will of COURSE be candy! What’s Halloween without candy?! You can find treat trails all around the park with M&M’s, Skittles, Snickers, and more.
There should also be some exclusive eats and treats available to buy during the party.
AND there will be some exclusive merchandise! You can take a look at the sneak peek of what’s coming this year right here.
We’ll let you know more about the party as it approaches and Disney reveals additional info. Stay tuned for more Disney World news and updates!
