TikToker Gets Escorted Away By Disney Security After Trying To Swim In Lake
There must be something in the water (literally) at Walt Disney World this week as this is the second odd bit of Disney news we’ve had to report on today. Earlier this afternoon we shared a story with you about a brawl that broke out at the entrance to Magic Kingdom after two families went to war over a photo op. Now a TikToker has posted a video that shows her plunging into a freshwater lake at Walt Disney World and acting shocked when she’s told to get out of the water by Disney security.
For those unfamiliar most lakes and waterways at Disney World have signs posted letting guests know about the risks of alligators and snakes that may inhabit the area. It is Florida after all. However, that didn’t stop a family from renting a boat during their Disney visit. This seems innocent enough and is a popular leisure-time activity at Walt Disney World. That is until one of the passengers decided to go for a swim.
You can check out the footage below:

As you can see from the video, the vacationers seem to be well aware of the no-swimming restriction but one passenger decided to take the plunge anyway. What happens next is some quick work by Disney security. Within minutes security arrive by boat to make sure that the passenger was no longer in the water and they then escorted the family back to shore.
Though Disney makes every attempt to limit guest interactions with alligators, attacks can and have occurred at Walt Disney World and have even proved fatal.
According to a piece by Tampa Bay 10, between 2016 and 2021, nearly 200 alligators were removed from Walt Disney World. Over the years, Disney has been working with alligator trappers to remove the reptiles from Disney’s waterway. The gators can get up to 12 feet long making trapping them an obstacle.
Alligators can be found throughout Florida and prefer freshwater lakes, slow-moving rivers, and wetlands. This makes the lakes in and around Walt Disney World prime alligator territory.
Above is a plaque found on the Lighthouse at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort dedicated to the memory of Lane Thomas, who was two at the time he was taken from the shore by a seven-foot alligator at the Grand Floridian. This was an incident that ended tragically after and led to Disney stepping up its precautionary measures to keep guests out of harm’s way.
There is a reason Disney has water restrictions in place. Alligator sightings are not uncommon for Disney regulars and it goes without saying that staying safe is a bit more important than clout-chasing! So stay out of the fresh-water Disney friends. That’s what resort pools are for!
