‘Dancing With The Stars’ Is Returning To ABC
Dancing with the Stars is coming back to ABC for Season 32.
The move will bring the reality show back to the broadcast network after the last season was aired exclusively on Disney+.
For its 32nd season, Dancing with the Stars will air on ABC and stream on Disney+ simultaneously, before being available on Hulu the next day.
A Response To The Writer’s Strike?
Disney’s decision to move Dancing with the Stars back to network television makes sense, especially considering the news that the Writers Guild of America has called for a strike against major Hollywood studios.
The strike will impact the production of scripted shows, meaning unscripted TV like Dancing with Stars will become that much more valuable.
With scripted television on hold for the first time in over 15 years, it makes sense that Disney (and other media companies) are re-evaluating the value of their unscripted shows.
What To Expect In Season 32
For Season 32, Julianna Hough is returning to the show as co-host, opposite Alfonso Ribeiro. She will replace departing host Tyra Banks.
Additionally, Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Derek Hough will serve as this season’s judges.
Lee Goodman, who was a judge on the show from 2005 unit 2022, passed away at the age of 78 on April 22.
