April 27th was a slower day in Disney history, but it still featured the release of a new Goofy cartoon, the end of the line for Disneyland attraction, and the release of a massive Marvel movie. So, let’s get started!
The Cold War Released (1951)
On this day in 1951, the Goofy short Cold War was released.
In the cartoon, Goofy learns that getting sick with a cold is no joke!
Hooked Bear Released (1956)
On this day in 1956, the Disney short Hooked Bear was released.
The cartoon featured Humphrey the Bear and Ranger J. Audobon Woodlore, who have little luck when fishing
American Express Travelport Closes (1992)
On this day in 1992, the American Express Travelport closed in CommuniCore West.
The exhibit allowed guests to use touch screens to preview vacations anywhere in the world.
The Lion King: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Released
On this day in 1994, The Lion King: Original Motion Soundtrack was released.
Featuring songs from the film written by Elton John and Tim Rice, the Lion King would go on to be the highest-selling soundtrack for an animated film of all time.
The Rocket Rods Close (2001)
On this day in 2001, the Rocket Rods closed in Disneyland.
A faster version of the PeopleMover, the Rocket Rods never worked properly.
Avengers: Infinity War Released (2018)
On this day in 2018, Avengers: Infinity War was released in theaters.
The third installment in the Avengers franchise, Infinity War brought together almost all of the heroes of the preceding Marvel films to battle the powerful Mad Titan Thanos.
