Carrot Patch Cupcake Perfectly Captures Spirit of Easter Week
Throughout the weekend, an abundance of Easter-themed treats have … hopped up to eateries across Walt Disney World Resort. Let’s take an adventure over to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at Disney’s Port Orleans-French Quarter to see what bunny-themed treat they cooked up this year.
Two Tasty Seasonal Treats
Famous for their beignets, the popular quick service location whipped up two different sweet treats for this week: the Carrot Patch Cupcake ($5.99) and the Spring Fling ($5.99), a plant-based choice.
Always a trusted food critic, MickeyBlogger Jessie selected the Carrot Patch Cupcake to try on this visit. It is certainly fair to say that the cupcake wins in the “delightful details” department.
Built to look like a carrot just sprouting from the “dirt” below, the cupcake plays with shades of brown in its cream cheese frosting and cake to create quite the Spring effect. We especially love the use of the frosting in the centerpiece of the cupcake to create the growing the carrot.
Not only does the carrot emerge from the top of the moist cupcake but it even extends deep into the “ground” below as a proper carrot should do this time of year.
Though lacking in carrot texture and flavor, the cake did offer a good balance between the deep and varied spices of the cake and the sweetness offered by the icing both on top and throughout the center of the cake.
