It’s finally time, folks — Roundup Rodeo BBQ has officially opened in Disney World!
The Toy Story-themed restaurant is appropriately located in Toy Story Land of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and we’ve been waiting quite some time for this spot to open. Today is the FIRST day diners can try out some barbecue, so let’s dive right in!
Checking In
We were the FIRST people to get inside Roundup Rodeo BBQ with our lunch reservation for 10:45AM, the earliest time you can reserve.

Once you enter, you can turn right to check-in.
Our table was called first, so let’s head into the restaurant!
Dining Area
We’ve already given you an inside look at Roundup Rodeo BBQ, which is whimsically designed to look like Andy crafted the restaurant from his favorite toys and materials.

The dining areas include a western theme (aka Woody)…
…and a space theme (aka Buzz Lightyear).
A Cast Member told us there are 90 tables available, with a variety of seating styles, including bench/table combos…
…tables and chairs…
…and booths.
Here was our table!
Let’s take a look at the menu.
Menu
Roundup Rodeo BBQ serves lunch and dinner for $45 per adult and $25 per child (plus tax and gratuity), with some optional add-ons for an additional cost.
The meal begins with bread service, also known as the Prospector’s Homemade Cheddar Biscuits with Sweet Pepper Jelly. Diners can also enjoy all three salad options, including the Rootin’ Tootin Tomato Salad, Rex’s Romaine and Kale Salad, and Wheezy’s Watermelon Salad.
For the main dish, there are two options, of which diners are able to select one. Choose from the Platter of House-Smoked Items including a variety of BBQ dishes, or try Trixie’s Plant-based Trio.
Diners can select four side dishes for the table out of options such as Mean Old Potato Salad, the Married Spuds, Veggie Slaw, Force Field Fried Pickles, Campfire-roasted Vegetables, Slinky Doooooooog’s Mac & Cheese, Buckin’ Baked Beans, and Cowpoke Corn on the Cob.
Each diner can select one dessert, with choices such as Bo’s Lemon and Blueberry Cheesecake, Billy’s Chocolate Silk Pie, Goat’s Apple Pie, Gruff’s Peach-Strawberry Pie, and Cupcake a la Forky.
Certain drinks are included in the price of your meal, including fountain drinks, iced tea, and kids’ drinks.
If you want to splurge a bit, you can purchase drinks such as Molly’s Frozen Iced Tea, Frozen Cowpoke Cocoa, and Partysaurus Tex.
Alcoholic drinks are also available at an additional cost.
If cocktails aren’t your thing, you can also order beer, hard cider, or wine!
Now let’s get a taste of the food.
Eats
After a Cast Member seats you at your table, you are first served water and the Prospector’s Homemade Cheddar Biscuits, which come with Sweet Pepper Jelly.
These biscuits were a huge highlight of the meal. They were the perfect texture and oh so cheesy, which is basically everything you’d want in a cheddar biscuit. The jelly added a nice element of sweetness too.
And don’t forget the biscuits!! 🍞 #disneyeats #disneyparks #rounduprodeobbq pic.twitter.com/Lii7KrXz2t

Your meal begins with three different salads, including the Rootin’ Tootin Tomato Salad with cucumbers, pickled red onion, and white balsamic vinaigrette…
…Wheezy’s Watermelon Salad with fresh-torn mint…
…and Rex’s Romaine and Kale Salad, made with apples, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, and Green Goddess Dressing. You get all three salads, and the tomato and watermelon salads are also plant-based.
We enjoyed all of them, especially the tomato and watermelon salads! They were a great way to start the meal.
You then order the four allotted side dishes for the table.

We selected The Married Spuds, or loaded potato barrels, which were crispy and had a layer of melted cheese. They were delicious and bound to be a favorite among diners.
The Cowpoke Corn on the Cob was also tasty and reminded us of the Street Corn you can get in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Slinky Doooooooog’s Mac & Cheese is made with pasta in the shape of Slinky Dog and topped with crushed Goldfish. This was a big favorite among the MickeyBloggers!
And the Buckin’ Baked Beans are plant-based, and on the sweeter side (but in a good way).
The whole table shares a family-style platter of house-smoked items, which is also all-you-can-eat. If you or someone in your party wants the plant-based menu, you can place that order separately.

The platter includes Evil Dr. Smoked Ribs, which were okay. They had a really good flavor, but they were also kind of tough.
Buttercup’s Beef Brisket was the star of the meat platter! It was delicious and tender.
The Sausage in my Boot — Fire-grilled Pork Sausage was a little dry but still flavorful.
And the BBQ Chicken — with Style was good but could have used a bit more flavor.
We also have to mention the sauces that come with your table, including Sweet, Classic, and Spicy. The spicy and classic sauces are vinegar-based, with the classic tasting like your typical BBQ sauce and the spicy having a mild kick that wasn’t over the top.
The sweet sauce is brown sugar-based, and it’s thicker and reminded us of Sweet Baby Ray’s.
Note that there is essentially no separate kids’ menu, other than select drinks. Kids are charged $25 instead of the $45 adult full price, and they can eat from the same platter as everyone at the table.
If anyone at the table follows a plant-based diet, you can order Trixie’s Plant-based Trio.

Trixie’s Plant-based Trio comes with Combat Carloflower with Harissa Drizzle and Walnut Gremolata, Scrumptious Bratwurst. and Rip Roarin’ Rib Chop.
We loved everything on this platter! The “meat” was tasty and well-seasoned, as was the cauliflower. Our plant-based eater didn’t feel left out from the rest of the meal, especially with so many meatless and plant-based side dishes.
And for dessert, each diner gets to order one! There are four different desserts to choose from, including the kids’ Cupcake a la Forky, which our server was kind enough to let us try.
Our MickeyBloggers found them all to be delicious and the perfect dessert size after a big meal. They come in mini mason cups!

You can order Bo’s Lemon and Blueberry Cheesecake…
…Billy’s Chocolate Silk Pie…
…Goat’s Apple Pie…
…Gruff’s Peach-Strawberry Pie, which is plant-based…
…and kids can enjoy the Cupcake a la Forky, made with gooey chocolate cake, graham cracker, buttercream, and sugar cookie.
Now let’s wash down all this food with some drinks!
Drinks
Included in the price of your meal are soft drinks and freshly brewed iced tea, including this Peach Iced Tea that our server recommended we try. Spoiler alert — it was AMAZING.
Other drinks are available at an additional cost, including non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. We gave a few a try!
Starting off with some drinks! The Rattler Rum Punch, Snake Eye Margarita, Partysaurus Tex (how adorable are those gummy worms?!?) and the grown ups PB&J 🍹 #disneyparks #disneyeats #rounduprodeobbq pic.twitter.com/TiHo9SgnCU
— MickeyBlog.com (@MickeyBlog_) March 23, 2023
The Rattler Rum Punch is made with Bacardi Superior Rum, orange pineapple juice, lime, and passion fruit, garnished with a sweet-and-spicy rim for $14.50. The spice made this drink really interesting.
Next up is the Snake Eye Margarita, made with Teremana Blanco Tequila, watermelon juice, lime juice, agave, and smoked chili bitters for $14.50.
Partysaurus Tex is a non-alcoholic drink, made with Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, strawberry puree, and gummy worm garnish for $6.50.
And the Grown-up’s Peanut Butter & Jelly is made with frozen Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey, Minute Maid Vanilla Smoothie Mix, and grape jelly for $16.50.
The jelly is crushed up on the bottom and one of our MickeyBloggers said it tasted like a perfect adult PB&J.
So is it worth it to visit Roundup Rodeo BBQ?
More Fun
Every 15 minutes or so, something fun happened throughout the restaurant, including changes in the lights and sounds, as well as one very special experience.
If you’ve ever dined at Rainforest Cafe, it was kind of like that.
Over the loudspeaker, we heard a cowbell ring, and then loud footsteps.
The servers exclaimed, “Andy’s coming!” Everyone, including the Cast Members, froze. After all, when you’re dining in Roundup Rodeo BBQ, you’re a toy, and Andy can’t find you moving around!
Uh oh…. Andy’s Coming!!!! 🤫 #disneyparks #disneyeats #rounduprodeobbq pic.twitter.com/rcrsB3rH14

Also, when it came time to sign the check, we were given a giant pen! Yes, it actually worked, and yes, we felt really like a kid again while using it.
So much fun.
Our Thoughts
Overall, our MickeyBloggers thought Roundup Rodeo BBQ was absolutely worth a visit! This is a restaurant for all ages and they were impressed with the amount of food for the price.
The atmosphere was also super fun, and they loved watching the Cast Members have a blast playing the role of “Andy’s toys.”
The plant-based menu was flavorful and plentiful and there are enough side dishes to satisfy everyone’s tastes. Plus, it’s all you can eat, and for $45 per adult and $25 per child, it’s not that unreasonably priced by Disney World standards.
Let’s dig into the pros and cons.
Pros:
- Amazing Toy Story atmosphere
- Plenty of tasty all-you-can-eat food
- Reasonably priced for the amount of food
- Fun, interactive Cast Members
Cons:
- Barbecue isn’t for everyone
- The atmosphere can be overstimulating for some
- You’re not getting a fancy meal
- It will probably be tough to get a reservation
With all that in mind, we highly recommend trying Roundup Rodeo BBQ out during your next Disney World visit! Remember, you can make dining reservations up to 60 days prior to your reservation, so make sure you mark your calendar — or work with a MickeyTravels agent (for free) to save you some stress!
