Latest EPCOT Construction Update including Journey of Water
Our MickeyBlogger has been spending the day at EPCOT and captured some images of the incredible construction underway as part of the theme park’s massive re-imagining.
Last week, we shared the announcement hat CommuniCore Hall will be opening at the end of this year.
This will be a brand new festival space, event venue and will also be adjacent to Dreamers Park featuring a stunning new Walt Disney statue.
It’s still early days for the new EPCOT Hall with structural work underway.
However, you can start to see the new area begin to take shape.
Disney also revealed that new meet and greets will be coming to EPCOT. Communicore will be home to a new Mickey Mouse meet and greet. Disney Chairman Josh D’Amaro also previously teased that a Figment character meet and greet is in the works as well.
Another big project underway at EPCOT is Journey of Water.
This upcoming new walkthrough attraction is inspired by beloved Disney film Moana.
Journey Into Water will be an educational attraction that explores the life-cycle of water in fun and interactive ways.
Behind the construction walls, you can make out the rock formations for the attraction.
You can see cliffs inspired by the film and the symbol of water.
Just beyond the rock formation will be a recreation of Te Fiti.
No opening date has been given as of yet for Journey of Water.
However we do expect it to open later this year.
