We Ate a Pot of Gold in Disney World
St. Patrick’s Day brings a lot of fun things to Disney World — new merchandise, tasty treats, fun festivals, and more.
We’ve checked out a lot of the lucky green treats we’ve seen around the resort so far, and now we’ve got our hands on another one! Come along with us to try the Mickey Pot of Gold over at Disney’s Old Key West Resort.
Mickey Pot of Gold Cake
This is a stout-chocolate cake filled with Irish cream mousse dipped in chocolate shell with buttercream, gold sprinkles, and a rainbow gummy for $5.99. Do be aware that this dessert is listed as having been made with or containing alcohol due to that Irish cream.
That rainbow gummy on top looks like one of those Air Head Xtremes. You know, the sour ones you’d eat a whole pack of until your tongue hurt? No? Just Me? Cool.
Well, this cake has great flavor overall, but it’s super messy. And by that we mean that it literally turned our reporter’s hands green!
So, make sure to grab some extra napkins, or else you’re going to need to wash your hands right away. Green is festive for the holiday, but we personally don’t really want to be covered in green frosting!
The flavors are perfect for St. Patrick’s Day, though. It’s got those stout and Irish cream flavors that work really well together!
Again, just make sure you’ve got some napkins or something nearby to help with the mess. You can get it at Disney’s Old Key West Resort right now!
If you want to check out some other treats for St. Patrick’s Day, take a look at some donuts we tried in Disney Springs, where you can find green popcorn in Magic Kingdom, and another lucky cake that deserves your attention!
