19 of Disney World’s Biggest Thrills
When you think of Disney World, usually the first things that come to mind are characters, princesses, Dumbo the Elephant or “it’s a small world.” But the four theme parks that make up Walt Disney World are also home to some MASSIVE thrills. With that in mind. We’ve compiled a list of 19 must-dos for all you thrill seekers out there!

Magic Kingdom
- TRON Lightcycle/Run – Kicking things off is Disney’s newest state-of-the-art coaster – TRON Lightcycle/run which opens at Magic Kingdom on April 4, 2023. Guests board lightcycles for an intense ride through The GRID, soaring underneath the ride’s stunning illuminated canopies!
- Space Mountain – Magic Kingdom’s classic indoor coaster still brings all the chills, thrills and dips on this high-speed adventure that transports you into the outer reaches of space, wormholes and all!
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – Bringing the thrills to Disney visitors since 1980, there’s nothing quite like racing through a haunted gold mine on a speeding train!
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – This family-friendly coaster located in the heart of Fantasyland features all of the storytelling elements of Disney’s famous dark rides combined with the thrills of soaring through caverns, scaling mountains and encountering the Evil Queen. Climbing the mountain’s peak, guests are also treated to stunning views of Fantasyland.
- Happily Ever After – It doesn’t need to be a ride to be thrilling. Case in point is Magic Kingdom’s beloved nighttime spectacular “Happily Ever After” which returns on April 3, 2023. This evening extravaganza has it all: incredible pyrotechnics, state-of-the-art castle projections, magical storytelling and an emotive soundtrack. New for 2023, the projections will also extend down Main Street U.S.A!

EPCOT:
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind – Get ready for an intergalactic race through space on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, the first Disney coaster to feature a reverse launch system. The ride also has the distinction of being one of the largest indoor coaster in the world with ride vehicles that rotate 360 degrees so you don’t miss a moment of the Marvel action.
- Test Track – Climb aboard your 6-passenger sim car where you’ll rev through rough terrain and obstacles while reaching speeds of up to 65 miles and hour!
- Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – Bringing fun thrills for the whole family, you’ll be mesmerized by the 4D ride experience of scurrying through a bustling Parisian kitchen!
- Mission: SPACE- This ride is not for the faint of heart and uses centrifugal force to give you the feeling that you are on a journey through space just like an astronaut.
- Frozen Ever After- On the surface, this dark ride featuring Anna, Elsa and the rest of the gang may not seem too thrilling. But you just wait until the currents take your boat racing backwards!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – Join the Resistance in an unforgettable battle against the First Order in this incredible adventure that uses multiple ride vehicles to create an experience that fully immerses you in the Star Wars universe!
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – Step into the cockpit of the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy for an incredible flight simulation that sees you soaring past some familiar landscapes on an interactive smuggling mission!
- Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – You’ll shriek in terror as you’re propelled up and down an abandoned elevator shaft at the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
- Slinky Dog Dash – The perfect thrill ride for kids of all ages, you’ll twist and turn your way past giant toys in Andy’s oversized backyard!

- Fantasmic! – This beloved nighttime show has it all: stunning effects, thrilling stunts, dazzling pyrotechnics and rousing music. Head into the world of Mickey’s dreams (and nightmares) in this production that is part stage show, part fireworks extravaganza and part water pageant.

Animal Kingdom:
- Expedition Everest – Board a train to the “top of the world” in this incredible Animal Kingdom coaster. You’ll make a steep ascent up Everest before a chance encounter with the Yeti sends you plummeting backwards through total darkness!
- Flight of Passage – The world of Pandora comes to life as you climb atop a winged mountain banshee for a breathtaking 3D adventure.
- Kali River Rapids – The wettest ride at Disney, Kali River Rapids is a thrilling whitewater adventure taking your through a lush jungle in the heart of Asia.
- Festival of the Lion King – If there’s one show at Disney World that is simply not-to-be-missed it is this one. Disney fans of all ages will delight in this larger-than-life production filled with songs, pageantry, puppetry, acrobatics and so much more.
